JROTC

JROTC

The program at Seaside High started in 1985. The Seaside JROTC program is orientated around improving citizenship skills: respect for authority, self-discipline, personal responsibility, leadership, and teamwork.

JROTC is an excellent vehicle for the practical application of leadership and citizenship instruction for high school students. Cadets (we refer to our students as cadets) pride themselves on setting high standards of behavior.

Physical fitness is stressed as a way of life and the instructional objective is to motivate young people to be better citizens. JROTC is a strictly voluntary class, and it imposes no military service obligation. It has been developed out of the historical background of over 90 years in high schools across the country.
